Pretty simple... needed some raised beds for personal use. Came up with a design and built them. Then we started getting a lot of questions and build requests. Thought it would be a fun challenge to see how big we could grow it.
And here we are!
The smallest is 2'x2', the largest is 4'x12'. The standard height is 27", but it can vary from 25"-30". Taller heights are available, (up to 40") at an increased cost.
Final cost will be determined when the project is scoped. However for general price scoping:
All boxes come standard with heavy-duty anti-spread galvanized strapping on the bottom middle span and a mid-span anti-spread board on top.
Yes. We can add weed-prevention fabric on the bottom for $5 and screw-leveling legs on the ends (total of 4) for $15.
We rarely have stock on hand, so it depends on the build queue. We shoot for between one and two weeks.
We use standard 2x4 and 2x2 with exterior screws and galvanized roofing for the sides. No Pressure Treated lumber is used. To give the boxes plenty of weather and rain-proof protection, we use boiled linseed oil on all surfaces, including end-grains.
Everything is put together with either exterior grade 2.5" or 3" screws, and the siding is attached with 1.25" screws.
The design is pretty straight-forward, but it's also quite strong.
To prevent bowing once the bed is loaded, we use 16 gauge galvanized steel strapping on the bottom and a cross-member on top. Boxes 8' long and greater get a middle-support to prevent sagging.
Also available is a landscape fabric or hardware fabric bottom covering and/or leveling feet on the corners.
It certainly could if you tried to fill them all the way up with container-grade soil...
But consider this:
1. Raised beds need good drainage
2. Most plants need at most a foot-deep topsoil to put roots into...
3. ...which means on the average raised bed you have about 15 or so inches in which the plants aren't going to care, as long as it drains well and remains stable.
We chose to follow a Hugelkultur method. Effectively, we started with large logs at the base (had a lot of logs that were hanging around) then grabbed a lot of leaves and other mulchy material that was in a pile and filled it up to about the 15" mark. From there, 12" of container-grade topsoil that we got from a soil supply company (NOT the bags of soil at big box stores).
All-in-all, we got a lot of yard waste cleaned up and used, and then topped it off with 2 Cubic Yards of topsoil for 7 beds.

These things don't ship... or it would cost a good deal more to ship it than it would to make it.
